Vendors Part I – Tents, Chairs and Umbrellas

We love the beach but do not sit for hour upon hour baking in the sun.  We normally go down to the water in the middle of the afternoon for a few hours.  It is a different world there.  I actually feel some days like it’s a dream and I am going to wake up. Over the next several weeks I am going to give you a little insight into what we see when we are there.

Even before we are off the sidewalk my amiga Nellie meets us wanting to set us up with our beach chairs and an umbrella for the afternoon for just $3 or you can get a tent like canopy with many chairs for the day for $8.

There are probably 10 different vendors that just handle chairs, umbrellas and tents along this stretch of beach.  There are no storage areas for their items so each morning  everything is brought to the beach and set up and each evening everything is removed. Besides doing this every day since we have lived here, Nellie also watches her sister’s three-month old baby and at times has her own three girls with her as well. Oh, I forgot to mention she is also my Avon rep.  These are people who take their responsibilities of family very seriously and still have a wonderful smile and attitude towards others.
