Tides in Salinas

Over the past several weeks we have seen and heard a change in the tides. The water level has been a bit higher and the sound of the surf much louder.  Yesterday the water was swirling and whirling around making lovely patterns on the water.

Folks who have lived here for a while have told us that the water will get so high it will cross the road at the upper part of the Malecon – that has not happened yet but as you can see from the photo above it is getting really close.

This photo also shows that there were several brave souls enjoying the water.  To us it is a bit chilly now and with little sun to warm you I would not venture in.
