Mariposas (Butterflies)

For the past several weeks we have seen an inordinate amount butterflies in our yard. They started out as these tiny white butterflies and yesterday they came in all colors and sizes. The predominant color seemed to be bright yellow, today they were black with orange spots, white with brown stripes and white. I have attempted taking still photos but these little lovelies just won’t sit still long enough for me to get any really clear shots. Maybe it’s not the photographer but  my Canon Power Shot that does not have the power to get the job done.

They have found the flowers around the house and seem to have a favorite in the Red Hibiscus that border our back yard. So I attempted to take a video with that same Canon camera. It’s not great but you get the idea.
