On June 11th our nephew Alex was drafted by the Texas Rangers baseball team. His first assignment was to the Spokane Indians and their Short Season starting on June 17. He was packed, on a plane and settled into his new host families home with his Pitt teammate Charles Leblanc within a few days of his signing. The season just completed with Alex playing in 31 games across the Pacific Northwest with a final average of .288. The home field was in Spokane WA.
Alex will be going back to Pitt for his final semester and then in February, according to Alex, he should be sent to Arizona for spring training.
